Book Description
Quantitative Research Methods for the Applied Human Sciences is an introductory text suitable for college or undergraduate students. The text is geared toward those in the helping professions, with examples drawn from the bodies of literature in community and therapeutic recreation, human relations, social work, and nursing, among others. The text is intended as both a primer on the logic and practice of social scientific research, and also provides students with an introduction to the main statistical techniques to test research hypotheses.
Of specific interest to Canadian researchers, the text introduces the Tri Council Policy Statement: Ethical Conduct for Research Involving Humans, among other, standard topics in research methods. This text should provide the beginning researcher with the confidence to conceptualize, plan, and conduct an original piece of research and analyze and interpret the collected data.
