An Inspiring Example of Departmental Collaboration at<\/h2>\r\n

Concordia<\/h2>\r\n<\/div>\r\n<\/div>\r\nThis chapter showcases three chapters from the JOUR 443: The Digital Magazine<\/em> open textbook, one of Concordia University\u2019s OER grant-funded open-textbook projects. Cristina Sanza and Andrea Hunter lead this department-wide initiative for the Department of Journalism\u2019s capstone course. An example of scaffolding pedagogy, the open textbook is integral to JOUR 443, which has multiple chapter-level applications for journalism courses. Some aspects that make this textbook stand out are accessibility, collaborative peer and student co-authorship, equity and inclusion, diversity and representation, interactivity, and localization. We highlight the expert use of multimedia and H5P content types and activities<\/a>, demonstrating how creating, sharing, and reusing interactive content can look.\r\n
