Accessibility Matters

“Concordia University is committed to creating a welcoming, inclusive, and accessible experience for all staff, faculty, students, and visitors. Our commitment is realized through powerful cross-campus partnerships, and requires everyone to play a role in preventing, identifying, and removing barriers to accessibility in all aspects of university life” (Accessibility Hub).

Accessibility within education matters at Concordia University and beyond. Accessibility makes education accessible to a diverse range of people; together, we enrich our educational culture and broader society. Increasing accessibility means enhancing our inclusivity practices for individuals with disabilities or neurodivergent characteristics, as well as second-language learners. Incorporating Universal Design for Learning (UDL) practices, we aim to inspire educators to support diverse learners with varied access methods, fostering a more equitable teaching and learning environment.

This section provides an overview of accessibility and file formats, as well as our accessibility checklist for OER grant recipients. You will also find additional resources and our brief overview of best practices for accessible HTML and CSS.
