Accessibility Matters
“Concordia University is committed to creating a welcoming, inclusive, and accessible experience for all staff, faculty, students, and visitors. Our commitment is realized through powerful cross-campus partnerships, and requires everyone to play a role in preventing, identifying, and removing barriers to accessibility in all aspects of university life (Accessibility Hub).”
Accessibility matters because it makes education accessible to a wide variety of people; together we enrich our education culture and wider society. Increasing accessibility means enhancing our inclusivity practices for those with disabilities or neurodivergent characteristics as well as second-language learners. Connected with Universal Design for Learning (UDL) practices, we aim to inspire educators to support diverse learners with varied access methods for a more equitable teaching and learning environment.
This section includes an overview of accessibility and file formats, our accessibility checklist for OER grant recipients. You will also find additional resources and our brief overview of best practices for accessible HTML and CCS.
