Accessibility Statement

This open guidebook was designed to help encourage Universal Design for Learning (UDL) and Accessibility at Concordia. Our goal is to create an inclusive resource that inspires educators to support diverse learners with varied methods of access for a more equitable teaching and learning environment.

We followed WCAG 2.1 standards to the best of our ability for the design and in-house content of the book. Accessibility was centred during the design of this book and continuously tested to adhere to best practices concerning both content and design.

For inspirational purposes, we have included and appropriately attributed third-party content. The media included in this learning resource is meant to encourage multimodal learning and the UDL principle known as the Design of Multiple Means of Representation. Meanwhile, interactive components can also play into UDL principles for engagement and expression. While noting that third-party content may vary in adherence to accessibility standards, we encourage any concerns to be addressed to individual authors where possible.

Concordia’s Open Educational Resource project values and welcomes feedback on our accessibility implementation. We are committed to ongoing alignment with emerging best practices in web accessibility, especially for all in-house content. Should you have any suggestions to improve access to this book, please email us at oer@concordia.ca.

The guidebook is also available for download in EPUB, MOBI, and PDF formats.
