Introduction

Concordia faculty members and students are invited to discover Open Educational Resources (OER) that may suit their courses. OER by Discipline Resource Guide: Concordia University, second edition, offers a mapping of open textbooks and potentially relevant courses in each department.  The main sections correspond with Concordia University’s six faculties which are as follows:

  • Faculty of Arts and Science – Humanities
  • Faculty of Arts and Science – Sciences
  • Faculty of Arts and Science – Social Sciences
  • Faculty of Fine Arts
  • Gina Cody School of Engineering and Computer Science
  • John Molson School of Business

Open Textbook Grants

There are grants available for Concordia faculty members to adopt or customize an open textbook for Concordia University courses. The grants provide funding to hire Concordia students in support of the work involved in identifying and evaluating, adopting, customizing, or creating open textbooks and revising course content as a result of incorporating a new textbook. To learn more, go to the OER Grants webpage.

Interested in Getting Involved?

This guide is being continuously updated as new resources are identified from major OER. In fact, undergraduate students contribute to potential pairings between their courses and existing open textbooks on a biannual basis at our Hunting for Open Educational Resources Suited to Your Discipline workshop. If you have additional suggestions, want to contribute, or otherwise get involved, please check out OER Get Involved webpage.
