Introduction

This guide is designed to help Concordia faculty easily discover open educational resources (OER) for their courses. It is primarily a list of open textbooks organized by faculty and department at Concordia University, but other OER such as videos may also be included.

For more information on open textbooks, you can refer to What is an Open Textbook?

This guide is being continuously updated as new resources are identified from major OER repositories.

There are 6 main sections in the guide:

  • Faculty of Arts and Science – Humanities
  • Faculty of Arts and Science – Sciences
  • Faculty of Arts and Science – Social Sciences
  • Faculty of Fine Arts
  • Gina Cody School of Engineering and Computer Science
  • John Molson School of Business

For each resource listed, you will find:

  • A short summary of the book based on the content, author, or other features
  • If available, the “Includes” line lists supplementary materials (e.g. exercises) that are available
  • If available, the “May suit” line lists Concordia courses in which the resource could potentially be adopted (work-in-progress)

Feel free to make use of these resources in your courses as textbooks or as supplementary readings. To help our Open Educational Resources program, please fill out the Adoption Form if you plan to adopt them into your course.
