These goals can be mapped to the program curriculum as indicators of purpose and cohesion.<\/p>\n<\/dd>\n<dt data-type=\"glossterm\"><dfn id=\"dfn-learning-outcome\">learning outcome<\/dfn><\/dt>\n<dd data-type=\"glossdef\">\n<p>A statement that describes what a student is expected to learn from a single class, a course or an entire program.<\/p>\n<\/dd>\n<dt data-type=\"glossterm\"><dfn id=\"dfn-module\">module<\/dfn><\/dt>\n<dd data-type=\"glossdef\">\n<p>An instructional unit that focuses on a particular topic.<\/p>\n<\/dd>\n<dt data-type=\"glossterm\"><dfn id=\"dfn-teaching-activity\">teaching activity<\/dfn><\/dt>\n<dd data-type=\"glossdef\">\n<p>An activity designed to support learners in developing their knowledge, skills or attitudes.<\/p>\n<\/dd>\n<dt data-type=\"glossterm\"><dfn id=\"dfn-teaching-objectives\">teaching objectives<\/dfn><\/dt>\n<dd data-type=\"glossdef\">\n<p>Describes the instructor\u2019s responsibilities, goals or intentions for the course. They often focus on the content that you, as the instructor, want to cover with your students.<\/p>\n<\/dd>\n<dt data-type=\"glossterm\"><dfn id=\"dfn-threshold-topics\">threshold topics<\/dfn><\/dt>\n<dd data-type=\"glossdef\">\n<p>Concepts that are typically difficulty or counterintuitive, but once understood transformative in the way students view the topic.
